Sirvan Manhoobi
Performer, Composer, Educator, and Researcher
I am a multi-instrumentalist (Oud, Setar, Shourangiz, Tar, Tanbour, and Robab), composer, and an expert in Iranian classical and folk music. Throughout my studies, I have immersed myself in Middle Eastern (Iranian, Arab, Turkish, and Jewish), Balkan, Tajik, and Afghan music, learning from renowned masters in these traditions. I have played in several Iranian music albums and have been honored as the best soloist in three Iranian music festivals. I have been a founder and co-founder of two Iranian music and one Middle Eastern music ensembles. Upon moving to the US in 2015, I continued my musical journey as a performer, composer, and instructor. I have performed with diverse world ensembles in various musical projects. Currently, I am pursuing my music studies at San Francisco State University.
